There’s that point when you know you went from liking an artist to being a fan. Mr. Beatnick’s Synthetes took me across that line. He may not be the most prolific producer out there, but when you listen to this EP you’ll understand just why Mr. Beatnick’s music is always well worth the wait.
Title track Synthetes’ lush staccato strings make it stand out in the river of music flowing out there, while it’s slow groove and, well, synthetic bass, carries one along with them to some deep tranquil land.
While this sure is the more epic tune of the four on this EP, Don’t Walk Away From My Love is my jam here. Consisting of that same melodic magic, this slow house track just rolls on and on, evolving with small nuances at it’s very own pace, with a soulful vocal drop here and there, and even a dash of acid at the last 30 seconds.
I’ve been listening to these two tracks on repeat since I purchased them (here), and just might keep on happily doing that until I’ll be hearing some more music coming from Mr. Beatnick’s way, take as long as it might.
