Ain’t making it easier

It’s only been a few months since the release of his “You Stand Uncertain” album, one of the most intricate and beautiful albums of this year so far, and Falty DL just won’t let you sit back and absorb the beauty. “Mean Streets: Part One” was dropped a a short while later, with it’s eclectic grooves and diverse sounds, and already we got a brand new single to try and wrap our heads around. Falty DL is making it difficult for us, for sure.
Luckily this time around sees New Yorker Drew Lustman taking it a little more straight forward, with two tracks aiming to produce a sort of new-old-school vibe where very basic breaks and classic house vocal hooks and drops meet the sounds of deep keys and fresher garge beats. Best thing I like about both these tunes is that somewhat eerie consistent chord that’s at the background most of the time (seems to be a very popular trick nowadays), which, combined with those old school drums, sounds to me like Madonna’s “Vogue”, updated into the Twenty Tens. In a good way, that is.
